There is no question that Serena Williams is one of the best (if not the best) female tennis players in history. But even her status as a world-renowned tennis champion doesn’t exempt her from the Internet trolls who degrade her appearance on her social media accounts. However, according to New York Magazine’s “The Cut,” Williams couldn’t care less about what her social media haters have to say about her looks or her talent.
“The Cut” reports that the tennis champion told Good Morning America on August 31 that she loves her full, strong, beautiful body. “It’s so important to look at the positives, if I get caught up looking at the negatives it can really bring you down,” she explained.
As for those commenters online, Williams says that she doesn’t have the time for their negativity. “I have Grand Slams to win,” she said. “I have people to inspire, and that’s what I’m here for.”
And you’re doing a great job at inspiring us, Serena, both on and off the tennis court.
