Newton’s new ‘HVN’ launches

If you’re looking for some retro-inspired dresses to add to your summer wardrobe, Harley Veira Newton has just the collection for you.

The model/DJ-turned-designer has just launched a new line of dresses called “HVN” on MatchesFashion on Wednesday, July 13, according to Glamour, and the day-to-evening dresses are perfect if you’re in search of a classic look.

The “forties-inspired frocks” are full of charm, featuring cinched waists and sweet prints, says Glamour, that are sure to become a favorite in your wardrobe — at least, that’s what Newton hopes. “I’d love these dresses to become a staple in your closet that you make your own,” she told Glamour.

While HVN took two years to come to fruition, Newton told Glamour that her fascination with dresses first took root as a young girl after admiring her mother’s style. “Growing up, I would see her beautiful collection of dresses, and how easy it was for her to get dressed,” she said. “She always looked put together and chic, but it felt so easy.

An avid collector of vintage clothing, Newton said that it was only a matter of time before her love of vintage and her flair for frocks merged. “You know when you’re looking for something, and you’re like, ‘Oh, I wish I could find this but with that sleeve or that print?’ These dresses are my answer to that,” she told Glamour. “I’m essentially just taking these classic silhouettes that look good on women of all ages and body types, and updating them in special prints and luxurious silks that feel great on the body.”

Currently, there are eight dresses from the HVN collection available on MatchesFashion, featuring everything from tank-style dresses in gingham to short-sleeve numbers in a sweet cherry print. Starting at $587, one of these adorable dresses is sure to strike your fancy and find its way into your wardrobe.
