Blogger goes bridal

A wedding dress is often a symbol of love, commitment and new beginnings, a sign of starting a new life with the person you love. But for one blogger, her wedding dress was about all of this and more.

According to POPSUGAR, when blogger and Marie Claire UK columnist Callie Thorpe posted a gorgeous picture of herself wearing a form-fitting lace A-line wedding gown to Instagram, the plus-size blogger used her special day to offer a dose of body positivity.

She started off the caption of her photo sharing that she never imagined wearing such a dress on her wedding day:

“I never dreamed I would wear a dress like this, I used to think that I would never get married until I was thin,” she wrote. “There were even times I doubted myself thinking I would be too self conscious to wear it. “

But, Thorpe wrote that as we get older and “surround yourself with the right people,” those in your life will love you for who you are, not what you look like — just like she wrote her new husband Dan always has.

Closing her post with her advice to brides of all sizes, Thorpe wrote:

“I would like to say this one thing to brides to be everywhere plus size or not do you not feel you have to change yourself or your size to be happy on your wedding day. You are deserving of happiness no matter what your size, and you will still be the most beautiful person in the room next to your love because you will be glowing with the love you have for each other. The happy ending is for everyone so please, please let yourself have it.”

So always remember: beauty knows no size, and love knows no bounds.
