If you’re looking for a little motivation, X Files‘ star Gillian Anderson is about to send some your way.
According to Glamour, Anderson and co-author, journalist Jennifer Nadel, will release a book entitled, WE: A Manifesto for Women, in March. Said to ignite “‘a rallying cry to create a life that has greater meaning and purpose’ for women,” Glamour says the book was inspired by the depression and low self-esteem faced by many young girls today.
“My first idea for a book was something that would help to lift girls out of that place of negativity,” she said, according to Glamour. “I know for myself, and I think for my daughter, I haven’t really had many female mentors in my life, and I haven’t had many people I could look at to guide me.”
Hoping to be that “mentor” to all those who read the book, Anderson and Nadel focus on nine principles in WE: “honesty, acceptance, courage, trust, humility, peace, love, joy, and kindness” — all principles that Glamour says “young people, specifically teenage girls, can use to overcome low self-esteem and improve the world around them.”
