Mermaids and makeup? Tarte has put the two together for the millennial collection of your dreams.
According to Cosmopolitan, Tarte has released a brand-new mermaid collection after teasing the sea-inspired products for a month. First releasing the “Be A Mermaid & Make Waves” eyeshadow palette on March 1, Cosmo says the brand finally released the rest of the line’s products, which include “a five-piece vegan brush set, mascara, holographic lip gloss, matte lip paint, glitter gel, “mer-mist” shimmer spray, and even mermaid false eyelashes and body jewels.”
With mermaid-tail brushes, clamshell eyeshadow palettes and multicolor lash extensions, the line is just as whimsical as it is colorful — and perfect for summer fun.

If you needed a reason to love Amy Poehler even more, her latest project may be it.
According to Refinery29, the actor and friend in our heads will be making her directorial debut with a Netflix film called Wine Country, which “film follows a group of pals who head to Napa to get their grape on and celebrate one of the women’s 50th birthdays.”
As if the plot isn’t enough, Refinery29 reports that the film’s cast features all of Poehler’s besties, including ” Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Tina Fey, and Emily Spivey, who also penned the script.”
With an all-star comedic cast, it’s hard to not be excited for the film — and Poehler & Co. seems to feel the same. Netflix announced the news Wine Country‘s forthcoming release by tweeting out a video of Poehler and her co-stars singing the Kenny Loggins song, “Whenever I Call You Friend” in slightly-tipsy unison.
While there has yet to be a release date announced, one thing is for sure: this film is going to be one to watch.

Stranger Things‘ Millie Bobby Brown does not want a young fan feeling down — especially on his birthday.
So when the actor caught wind of a tweet from Twitter user Ayen Alambat, who shared photos of his brother Aaron’s Stranger Things-themed birthday party, Mashable reports that the young starlet knew she had to do something.
The tweet in question contained four photos of Aaron’s party, says Mashable, with a caption that read, “my brother invited 8 of his classmates for his stranger things themed bday party & none of their punk selves showed up.”
As the tweet picked up steam — and garnered well over 60,000 retweets in Aaron’s support — Mashable says Brown eventually caught wind of it a few days later, and retweeted it herself with a sweet message:
“What!!!! Oh Well You can let them all know that everyone on behalf on Stranger things would’ve come! I think your awesome and next year I would like an invite… Please? “
Let’s hope Millie’s support lifted Aaron’s spirits!
A major fashion campaign is about to get a boost from one of music’s best known stars.
According to Glamour, Britney Spears is headlining Kenzo’s “La Collection Memento N°2,” the “the second installment of the brand’s archival-inspired capsule.” Celebrating icons, Glamour says the campaign was shot by Peter Lindbergh in Los Angeles, who is also an icon in his own right.
“Britney is certainly an icon and the quintessential queen of denim,” the brand said in a statement, Glamour reports. “Of similar stature in the photo world is Peter Lindbergh, whose British Vogue cover of Linda, Naomi, Cindy, Tatiana, and Christy ignited the age of the supermodel.… Lindbergh captured Britney in all her American Dream glory and beauty.”
As for the campaign’s images, Glamour reports that they are “meant to be read as ‘a bit cheeky, optimistic, and joyous,'” reflective of the “youthful” collection — and apparently, the vibe on the set of the photoshoot, according to Spears.
“We had fun on set, even though it was a bit weird for me at first,” she told Vogue. “I am used to shooting in a studio or a small space, and this was on the street. We were out there and I had really promiscuous clothes on, which felt odd, but of course, on film it turned out to be really cool.”

Can’t a girl just go on vacation with her friends? While that could have been the response Selena Gomez left for body shamers on her Instagram, she instead chose to make it a teachable moment.
According to Marie Claire, when the multi-hyphenate started posting some bikini-clad photos from a recent vacation — some of which revealed scars from her recent kidney transplant surgery — some followers saw it as an opportunity to comment on her physique. However, Gomez didn’t let the comments get to her; instead, Marie Claire said she posted a moving response focused on self care:
“The beauty myth-an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty. I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone.
Wind in her sails. 🌈💜”
And with this one post, Gomez instantly pointed out — and destroyed — the confines within which women everywhere are placed.
Vanity Fair’s latest cover star is making waves in more ways than one.
According to HuffPost, actor and writer Lena Waithe is starring on Vanity Fair‘s April cover, which some are saying marks “a major shift in the magazine’s largely mainstream focus by showcasing an up-and-coming black, openly lesbian woman.” The cover, photographed by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, is the first for the glossy’s new editor in chief Radhika Jones, reports HuffPost, potentially indicative of how Jones may steer the magazine in the future.
“When I thought about the kind of person I’d like to see on the cover of Vanity Fair, I thought about Lena Waithe — a member of the new creative elite remaking entertainment for her generation,” Jones wrote in a note to readers of the new issue, according to HuffPost.
Waithe is best known for her role on the hit Netflix series Master of None, says HuffPost, previously working up through the ranks of the entertainment industry while serving in a more behind-the-scenes capacity as a writer and assistant under the likes of Ava DuVernay and Gina Prince-Bythewood.
Most recently, HuffPosts says Waithe has created her own series, — The Chi, which has already been renewed for a second season on Showtime — and has another series about a queer black woman in development, not to mention she appears in Steven Spielberg’s new movie, Ready Player One.

Just over three months into 2018, and Ava DuVernay has already had quite a year: the director and producer not only celebrated the release of her acclaimed and inclusive A Wrinkle in Time, she also made cinema history along with Black Panther, with her film and the Ryan Coogler project marking the first time in history that “films by black directors with $100 million plus budgets have ever placed in the first two box office spots.”
But now, DuVernay is making history again, this time by entering the superhero universe: according to Glamour, she will be “taking on Jack Kirby’s beloved series New Gods, which means she’s the first black woman, and only the second woman after Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, to lead a DC comics blockbuster.”
Glamour said DuVernay confirmed her history-making news on Twitter, sharing a photo of Jack Kirby along with his quote, “Our dreams make us large.” Her tweet then spurred a deluge of support and praise, with some called her “The GOAT” (a.k.a the ‘greatest of all time’), while others expressed their congratulations and overwhelming excitement.
Adding to the excitement of DuVernay’s new project is that she is a fan of New Gods, says Glamour, sharing that her favorite superhero is “Big Barda, a powerful heroine with superhuman strength created by Kirby.” And, as Glamour points out, because the series only appeared in a limited way, DuVernay will have all the room to make New Gods her own.

Khloé Kardashian brainchild Good American jeans has just unveiled a line of denim perfect for those who are expecting a child of their own.
According to PopSugar, the designer and mom-to-be has expanded her inclusive denim brand with a brand-new maternity line. Called Good Mama, PopSugar reports that the line is fit for all stages of pregnancy and offers two different styles that come in a range of sizes from 00 to 24.
While Kardashian is expecting her own little bundle of joy, she told PopSugar that Good Mama was already in the works long before she had a bun in the oven, making the line all the more meaningful to her.
“I have been working on this for honestly six months, even before I got pregnant, which is crazy! I feel like we are putting things into the universe . . .” she said. “We’ve been working on a maternity denim line called Good Mama . . . I’m so excited because I really miss wearing jeans during my pregnancy. I think you look so cute and chic and there’s only so many dresses or leggings I can wear every day.”

As part of Vogue‘s “American Woman” project to celebrate strong American women, singer Demi Lovato erased her makeup in powerful video that celebrates her inner fortitude and her natural beauty.
According to Today.com, the “Sorry Not Sorry” songstress slowly wipes off all of her stage-ready makeup, looking “defiant” while she “peels off her false lashes and rubs off her lipstick and eye shadow, as ironic audio from vintage makeup tutorials plays in the background.”
Revealing her fresh-faced self, Today.com says Lovato wanted to challenge the makeover myth — the idea that people need to alter their appearances to appear beautiful.
“I think society tells us we need makeovers, but why can’t we embrace the beauty that we naturally have?” she said in an interview with Vogue.
But make no mistake: Lovato likes getting dressed and made up, too, says Today.com, telling the fashion glossy that she enjoys both natural and glam looks. “I love makeup,” she said. “I love doing my hair; I have extensions, but there’s a time and a place for everything, and natural beauty needs to be celebrated.”
She concluded her video with a makeup-free and confident smile into the camera, seemingly saying that there’s nothing wrong with being confident — inside and out.
