A model and a shoe brand walked into a design room — what they came up with was not the punch line of a corny joke, but size-inclusive shoes that are the perfect fit for any body.
According to Glamour, Jeffrey Campbell announced a collaboration with model La’shaunae Steward that provides a capsule collection of size-inclusive shoes. The five-piece collection promises that the designs will “fit your every curve,” says Glamour, keeping in mind that when they say their shoes “are made for everybody [they] truly mean everyBODY.”
So where did the idea for a size-inclusive footwear collection come from? Glamour says Steward and friend-slash-Jeffrey Campell creative direct Sanam Sindh once had a conversation about a lack of boots for curvy customers when the idea was hatched:
“I was telling her how a lot of the boots don’t fit thicker legs, and as my friend—who knows how the fashion world doesn’t celebrate fat brown women enough—she saw this as an opportunity for me, an underappreciated curve model.”
In helping to bring the line to life, Steward is not only opening the door for more inclusive designs to be created in the future, but also for consumers to see themselves represented by a brand.
“I grew up never being able to afford the things I like and for [a brand I’ve] loved since a young teenager to believe in me and to acknowledge me is amazing,” Steward told Refinery29 in an interview.
And she is amazing.
There’s a first for everything, and one model is trying her best to break new ground in the fashion industry.
According to Cosmopolitan, model Leyna Bloom took to Twitter last week to tweet two stunning photos of herself in a bikini. But it was the caption that caught people’s attention — and spurred a movement: “Trying to be the 1st Trans model of color walk a # Fashion show. # # ”
With one single tweet, the model — who has already appeared on the runway for Chromat and The Blonds, says Cosmo — began a crusade to become the first transender model of color to walk the runway for the major lingerie brand. Cosmo reports that so far, the post garnered well over 100,000 retweets and 30,000 comments in support of Bloom’s campaign.
With people flocking to her support, Bloom knows that should she get the chance to appear in a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, her presence on the runway has the potential to be game-changing.
“[That brand has] the power to set the tone, and that would be the biggest leap up to date,” she told Yahoo, according to Cosmo. “Can you imagine what that would do for our world? We all have unique stories; we are just different, and we have every right to be. We just want to be represented, and maybe they will want to represent us too.”
Cardi B is on top of the world right now: her new rap album “Invasion of Privacy” recently debuted to rave reviews, she made her first Saturday Night Live appearance AND in the same night, revealed that she’s pregnant with her first child.
But that’s not all this rapper has going on: according to Harper’s Bazaar, Cardi recently announced the launch of her collaboration with Fashion Nova, an ” online retailer for women’s clothing that Cardi has been wearing and repping long before her ‘Bodak Yellow’ days.”
Rumored to be released in October, Harper’s Bazaar says her collection will include 80 to 100 items that Cardi designed on her own in what is Fashion Nova’s first design collaboration; pieces will range from “dresses to jeans and outerwear.”
Fashion Nova CEO Richard Saghian told Harper’s Bazaar that Cardi isn’t just a good choice for their first collaboration, she’s the only choice.
“I can’t think of a better fashion icon for our first design collaboration than Cardi B,” he said. “Cardi loves the brand and was wearing it before she became famous. She’s the ultimate fashion muse and has incredible style.”
Can’t wait to see what this muse dreams up for the collection!
Disney may be all about fairy tales and magic, but they may pale in comparison to the magic that is a brand-new Disney-inspired footwear collection.
According to PopSugar, fashion influencer and designer Chiara Ferragni has teamed up with shopDisney to “create a limited-edition capsule collection of footwear inspired by Minnie Mouse.”
The line, which is a total of only five pieces, offers both mules and sneakers as its primary styles, though don’t let that fool you: PopSugar says each pair is draped in “sparkly embellishments and luxe fabrics” that make these shoes just as stylish as they are comfortable.
As if you already weren’t getting the royal treatment, PopSugar reports that all styles are made in Italy with velvet, suede and patent leather.
So how much does a pair of these modern-day Disney glass slippers cost? By far the cheapest option clocks in at a lofty $299.95, while the most expensive totals $469.99.
Perhaps we’ll wait for a fairy godmother to send some our way!

With warmer weather quickly approaching, many may feel pressured to get ready to share bikini photos on social media. But one model is here to tell us that we don’t have to.
According to Cosmopolitan, model and Aerie REAL model Iskra Lawrence recently posted a fresh patch of bikini photos to Instagram, and along with them, a caption that offered that not every bikinigram has to be accompanied by a body-positive message or a “philosophical caption.” Instead, she offered that we all should feel comfortable posting as much or as little as we want, showing as much or as little as we want — because all of us are deserving of respect.
“A bikini pic or anything else doesn’t have to have a philosophical caption or be about body posi because maybe it seems more purposeful now or demands more respect,” she wrote in her post’s caption, Cosmo reports. “You deserve the same respect regardless of what you choose to wear.”
Lawrence wanted to make one other thing clear: we all shouldn’t feel pressure to “post swim or underwear pics for likes, follows or because u see people like me doing it. Your comfort and confidence is wayyyy more important, so stay true to you.”
And with that, Lawrence wrapped up her comments with a cool “no airbrushin no problem” and sent us on our body-positive, feeling-confident way. And sometimes, that all we need is a quick reminder to do what works for us.
Tommy Hilfiger is releasing a follow-up line to his ever-popular adaptive clothing line for adults with disabilities.
According to PopSugar, the designer’s new Spring 2018 collection offers both men’s and women’s styles that are ” true to Tommy’s signature all-American aesthetic but each piece has been produced to be more accommodating for people with disabilities.”
Featuring his iconic red, white and blue designs, PopSugar reports that the all the items in the collection have modified closures and adjustable details, such as “bungee cord closure systems and updated Velcro brand closures,” all of which aim to make it easier to put on and take off the items.
Another addition to this latest collection is its star-studded campaign, which PopSugar says features major disability advocates like Paralympian gold medalist Jeremy Campbell and dancer/vlogger Chelsie Hill.
Just one more way to show that no matter who we are or what our limitations may be, we all deserve to look and feel our best.

Jennifer Lopez is about to help you get your glow on.
According to People, the multi-hyphenate is launching a brand-new, limited-edition makeup collection with Inglot Cosmetics, working with the brand on “everything from the shade range (all 70 color products in the line were either created and hand-picked by the star) to the names of some of her bound-to-sell-out-in-seconds skus, such as a bronzer and highlighter she christened ‘Boogie Down Bronze’ and ‘Livin’ the Highlight.'”
But make no mistake: this makeup collection isn’t just any line of basic products. No, JLo wouldn’t do us dirty like that. Instead, People reports that her collection features a “Freedom System Palette,” which allows fans to choose the specific products and shades they want and combine them into one palette — which totals over 300,000 possible combinations!
With her line offering up standards like mascara, lipstick, bronzer and eyeshadow, People says JLo herself acknowledged just how revolutionary her Freedom System Palette is, explaining that not only gives fans the chance to curate their palettes to suit their needs, it also eliminates spending money on sets that don’t fully fit your makeup must-haves.
“Now you no longer have to buy that 5-piece eyeshadow kit to get the one color you really want!” JLo explained in a release.
So when does this magical collection make its debut? People reports that the entire collection will be available on April 26, while a premiere palette will go on pre-sale on April 17. JLo’s collaboration with Inglot Cosmetics will be available on the brand’s website, as well as jenniferlopezinglot.com and in select Macy’s stores.

All it takes is one person to begin to blaze a trail for others to follow. And in Division I college basketball, their “first” just arrived.
According to CBS Sports, the University of Maine has recently hired former WNBA guard Edniesha Curry as a full-time assistant coach for their men’s basketball team, becoming the only full-time female assistant coach in Division I men’s basketball.
Prior to earning the assistant coach position, CBS Sports says Curry was working at UMaine as an assistant basketball player development coach for the women’s team between 2015 and 2017, also playing in the WNBA and overseas between 2002 and 2009. In between her new role at UMaine and her last job there, CBS Sports reports that she was “working with the NBA Assistant Coaches Program and as a women’s athletic program manager at Atlanta Classical Academy.”
As for her latest gig, first-year Maine coach Richard Barron said selecting Curry for the role was an “easy choice.”
“She is extremely talented at developing players – especially within the context of defensive and offensive systems,” he said in a release, according to CBS Sports. “Eddie teaches skills that can be utilized with frequency in a game. Eddie is also great at scouting opponents as well as ‘self-scouts’ – breaking down video to find areas of improvement…Our players will be very fortunate to have someone as gifted and enthusiastic as Eddie coaching them.”
Demi Lovato has no time for being hard on herself and her body — and a recent Instagram story proves exactly that.
According to Glamour, the “Confident” singer showed her confident side in a series of posts to her Instagram story which began with a Boomerang in which she “pinched some skin on her stomach and wrote, ‘Stretch marks and extra fat..and yet I still love myself.'”
Her Boomerang posts continued, says Glamour, posting a second, full-body shot where she “swiveled her hips” and wrote “Cellulite and yet I still love myself,” with an arrow drawn toward her exposed thighs. While Glamour points out that fans jumped to point out that no traces of cellulite were visible on the image, Lovato explained that the Boomerang smoothed out her legs, thus reducing the appearance of any cellulite present.
“The point is, I have cellulite just like the other 93% of women do,” she wrote. “What you see on Instagram isn’t always what it seems to be. Let’s embrace our real selves. #iloveme.”
Lovato concluded her posting spree with another full-body, smiling mirror shot, Glamour reports, writing “No thigh gap for me and yet I still love myself.”
And with her series of posts, she showed how we all have perceived “flaws,” yet it is more than possible to love ourselves in the way we should.
Because there’s nothing wrong with being confident.
There’s a first for everything, and for H&M, their ‘first’ came with the launch of their wedding shop.
According to InStyle, the global fashion retailer has unveiled their very first wedding shop, and with it comes dozens of styles for everyone from the bride to the wedding guests. Featuring long and short lace dresses, adorable flower girl looks and pleated numbers, the line certainly offers an array of styles fit for any wedding.
However, InStyle points out that the line’s centerpiece happens to be a gown that looks almost exactly like Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen wedding gown, replicating the look’s lace sleeves, sweetheart neckline and A-line skirt — the only things missing, InStyle reports, are the “9-foot train and the hefty price tag.”
How much would H&M’s Kate Middleton dupe set you back? Try $250, as opposed to the real deal’s rumored $434,000.
That’s all the reason you need to rush over to H&M’s site to view the introductory styles from their new wedding collection.
