Anita Ko upgrades online presence

Not all jewelry is created equal, and celebrity jeweler Anita Ko‘s designs certainly stand out among the rest. Now, the fine jewelry brand has a web presence to match.

InStyle sat down with the jewelry designer to learn more about the upgrade and what it could mean for future designs and collaborations. While Ko explains that she worked with a creative team that designed sites for the likes of Chanel and Dior, there were other behind-the-scenes upgrades made to enhance the customer experience, such as improving the ordering system and staff-to-client communication.

Also new to the site is the brand’s first celebrity-based campaign, says InStyle, which stars model and actress Amber Valletta. Explaining her decision to use the model for her latest campaign, Ko told InStyle that Valletta is “a legendary beauty” who “represents the modern woman I design for.”

But Ko’s relaunched website hasn’t shown all of its new features just yet; Ko explained to InStyle that while new (and amazing) jewelry is to be expected, “there are some really cool things that the photographer Ben Hassett came up with that have never been done on a jewelry site before.”

Wearing a cream-colored lace dress with cutouts in the middle of winter may sound wrong, but when Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland wore the very thing to the ELLE  Women in Television dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 20, it was very, very right.

Hyland attended the West Hollywood affair in what InStyle says is a cream Zimmermann frock with cutouts on the sides that gave way to an open back. She completed her look with nude Giuseppe Zanotti heels and sparkly Anita Ko rings.

Although Hyland’s look seems as though it came straight off the runway, a few modifications were made to the dress to make it the chic look she wore to the Women in Television dinner. According to The Daily Mail, the original number from Zimmermann’s Spring 2016 collection not only has sleeves, but also a ruffled hemline and lace-covered cutouts.

While this may mean you can’t take Hyland’s exact look for your own, there’s still hope for her gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti heels — or so we thought. Her patent leather tri-strap sandals cost a whopping $850 from Net-a-Porter. But don’t let the high price spoil your attempt to recreate Hyland’s ensemble, because we’ve found all the pieces necessary to take her look for less than $200. Read on for the results!

Finding a lace dress with similar features to Hyland’s altered dress was quite the struggle, but we finally landed on the ASOS Lace Crop Top Skater Dress. Featuring a high neckline and sheer lace back, this dress gives similar hints of skin that Hyland’s dress does, but without dramatic alterations. The cropped layer also emphasizes your waist in a way akin to the fringe on the top of Hyland’s frock. The best apart about this dress — it’s currently on sale for $39.

Capping off our look for less is a pretty pair of nude sandals, and we’ve found the perfect pair in the form of the Four Strap Barely There Sandals from Missguided. Although these sandals have one strap more that Hyland’s heels, they share the same basic silhouette and style, making them a great way to finish off your look-alike ensemble for only $51.

While Hyland’s look cost upwards of $850, our reimagined look with pieces from ASOS and Missguided will only set you back an even $90. Complete your look with your favorite silver rings and a chic topknot, and you’ll have Hyland’s look in no time!

Show-business magazine Variety and their sister publication Women’s Wear Daily held a launch party on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Smashbox Studios in Culver City, California for their latest media venture, Stylemakers, a publication in which fashion and entertainment meet. And keeping true to their new magazine, all the hottest stylemakers of Hollywood showed up to mark the occasion in high style.

One such stylemaker was Kerry Washington, who wore a striped crop top and midi skirt combo by Saloni, InStyle reports. Capping off her look were chevron Nicholas Kirkwood pumps and jewelry by Anita Ko.

Although we love Washington’s striped style, we can’t say we are thrilled about it’s price. Her pumps alone, the Nicholas Kirkwood Women’s Monochrome Chevron Pointed Pump, originally retailed for $790, although they are currently on sale for $158 on LN-CC. We think you don’t have to pay high prices to achieve a high-fashion look, so we set out to recreate her entire look for less than the sale price of her pumps — that is, less than $158. Read on for the results!

Leave it to Lulu’s to present us with the perfect two-piece dress in the form of the Telephone Lines Black and Ivory Striped Two-Piece Dress to recreate Washington’s Saloni look. Mimicking the wrapped bodice style of Washington’s top, this two-piece style also features a full skirt reminiscent of her midi style. And the best part — this dress will only set you back $49.

Chevron pumps will complete our look for less, and the Chevron Pointed Toe Pumps from Charlotte Russe will do just the trick. Done in a similar pointed-toe style, these chevron printed pumps will easily pass for Washington’s pumps, but they certainly don’t cost as much — these pumps cost an easy $16.99.

Kerry Washington’s Nicholas Kirkwood heels alone may cost a sale price of $158, but our entire look for less will only set you back $65.99 — yes, you read that right. Just add your favorite jewelry, you’ll have taken Washington’s look for MUCH less!
