ASOS unveils rainproof jumpsuit for customers in wheelchairs

ASOS’s most recent move is fashion inclusivity at its finest.

According to Glamour, the British retailer partnered with Chloe Ball-Hopkins, a reporter and model who uses a wheelchair, to design a “a tie-dye rain suit—one that can be zipped together into a jumpsuit” that is “designed specifically with wheelchair users in mind.”

Glamour reports that the jumpsuit is said to be fully waterproof, and comes complete with longer back hem to provide extra coverage and is cut in a relaxed fit. Perhaps the best part is that not only did Ball-Hopkins have a hand in the design process to make sure it was an accessible piece of clothing, Glamour says she also serves as the model for the piece on ASOS’s site, where the jumpsuit is sold for $64.

Ball-Hopkins took to Twitter last week to share the collaboration and offer praise for the accessible design.

“So over the last several months I have been working with @ASOS to create a fashionable, yet practical waterproof all in one,” she wrote, according to Glamour. “Not just for people like me in a chair but for anyone. It’s about making fashion accessible! So what should be next?!”

As for what’s next, hopefully it’s more accessible and inclusive clothing, because the new jumpsuit debuted to much acclaim on Twitter, with several users, including blogger Shona Louise, marveling over the garment’s inclusivity.

“”It’s actually been designed with wheelchair users in mind!!” Shona tweeted, according to Glamour. “Accessible clothing on @ASOS 😳 I seriously never thought I’d see this happen, so happy ☺️ I kind of want it.”

Here’s to much more of this in the future!

Crayon brand launches makeup collection

If the colors of your childhood crayon box inspired your current passion for makeup, brace yourself: a famous crayon brand has just unveiled their very own collection of cosmetics.

According to ELLE, Crayola has launched their new Crayola Beauty line exclusively with British retailer ASOS.com, complete with packaging that will take your back to your grammar school days. Adding to the nostalgia of the line are the product names, will ELLE says include all of the familiar Crayola crayon shades, such as “Fuzzy Wuzzy, a dusty rose” and “Tumbleweed, a cool beige.”

The 58-piece collection is also all vegan, reports ELLE, and offers a range of products that include “face crayons, lip and cheek crayons, color-changing lip crayons, highlighters, mascaras, palettes and brushes.”

And, keeping true to its color-centric brand, ELLE says each color is highly pigmented, offering a saturated, bold look — a look that will be easy to achieve when the line boasts 95 shades to choose from.

Adding to the line’s accessibility beyond the number of shades available are two factors: price and intended audience. While pieces from the collection range between $15 and $40, ELLE reports that a press release “notes the collection is gender fluid and the campaign photos reflect that spirit with both men and women wearing the products.”

Social media erupts in praise over ASOS swimwear model

Online retailer ASOS made waves when it began using unretouched models, featuring everything from stretch marks to cellulite. But now, the company is drawing extra praise for showcasing one model in particular in their lineup.

According to Insidershoppers took to social media to share their delight in the company choosing Vivian Eyo-Ephraim to be a swimsuit model for their ASOS Curve line. For example, Twitter user Katherine Laura said, “Glad to see curve models are actually the sizes sold and not a size 12 wearing larger clothes. Thanks ASOS,” while another simply wrote “THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO SEE!!!!!”

Others praised the move as a significant step toward achieving greater body inclusivity and diversity in the fashion industry, as Twitter user Martina shared, “she’s so beautiful and seeing my body shape being represented as well makes me so happy.”

Eyo-Ephraim told Insider that the opportunity has given her a platform to break down the doors of beauty standards to represent all beauty.

“”I am so grateful to Bridge Models and ASOS for championing diversity in the fashion industry and giving me this amazing opportunity to do a job I love,” she said. “To have the public respond in such a positive way to one of my first jobs is so unbelievable, it just highlights now more than ever that we want to see a wider representation of women and men on the high street and we are going to champion the brands that listen to us.”

Glamour, ASOS team up for inclusive swimsuit design

What do you get when a major magazine teams up with a clothing brand? Only the most flattering swimsuit ever.

According to Glamour, the recently-redesigned glossy has teamed up with ASOS to design the most flattering swimsuit for women sizes 14 and up. At the brand’s London headquarters, Glamour sent blogger Katie Sturino to meet with swimwear designer Amy Holden, telling her “what was missing in the market for women sizes 14 and up: bright colors, well-constructed support, bikini bottoms that weren’t up to your rib cage (thereby creating the dreaded ‘diaper butt’).”

What resulted was a one-piece underwire suit complete with adjustable straps and a high-cut bottom. And with its red, white and blue color scheme, the swimsuit serves up major superhero vibes, — because let’s face it, we’re all Wonder Woman, and don’t we deserve a swimsuit that makes us feel as much?!

Unretouched models abound in new Asos swimwear photos

If you’re worried about showing some skin at the beach this Fourth of July, Asos is here to tell you to celebrate your imperfections.

In fact, that’s exactly what models in their swimwear photos did. According to InStyle the retailer featured “models with stretch marks, acne scars, and birthmarks on their website,” refusing to edit their photos to make them blemish-free.

With the photos showcasing each model’s natural beauty, InStyle says Twitter was abuzz over the photos, with many tweeting their praise of the company.

Twitter user @Kelly_Horrigan showed her support by sharing, “round of applause to ASOS for not editing out their models stretch marks, finally realistic body images are being promoted, so beautiful 👏🏻💖.”

Take Her Look [For Less]

While Paris Fashion Week slowed to a halt on March 9, it seemed as though the celebrities in attendance only amped up their fashion for the final day of shows.

Such was the case with Selena Gomez, who attended the star-studded Louis Vuitton show. The “Hands to Myself” singer gave her own fashion show when she showed up in head-to-toe Louis Vuitton, according to ELLE; sporting a crisp white button down under a black overcoat, Gomez paired the top with a dark wash denim skirt. The star of her look, however, was her Louis Vuitton snakeskin booties.

If you are drooling over her snakeskin shoes, you may want to wipe up the saliva from your chin before you find out how much they cost. These Louis Vuitton stunners — the Cosplay Low Boot — which feature a pixelated python print and a metal toe cap, will set you back a lofty $3,800. While that is out of reach for most of our budgets, we’ve found all the pieces necessary to recreate Gomez’s entire look for (way) less than her pricey booties. Read on for the results!

Starting off our look for less is a simple white button down, and the Textured Cotton Shirt from Forever 21 is a cost-effective blouse for the job. This utility piece will be a versatile wardrobe staple for a mere $19.90.

A dark wash denim skirt will complete the basics of Gomez’s look, and ASOS offers the perfect option in the form of the Jack Wills Button Front 70s Style Denim Skirt. Done in a similar wash and silhouette, this skirt makes a great alternative to Gomez’s style, and it will only set you back $66.92.

Finding snakeskin booties to rival Gomez’s pricey Louis Vuitton style was no easy task, but the Lucky Brand Bartalino Bootie from Nordstrom certainly gives them a run for their money. While they aren’t quite as fancy as the Louis Vuittons, they are much more versatile, delivering a faux snakeskin in a casual western silhouette that can be worn with everything from this look-alike ensemble to your favorite pair of jeans. These versatile booties will definitely be worth their $99.95 price tag for all the wear you’ll get out of them.

Although nothing can compare to Gomez’s multi-colored Louis Vuitton bag, the Steven Madden Chaplin Crossbody Bag gives a similarly colorful look in a quilted design. This chainlink shoulder strap bag will add some color to your look for only $21.95.

While Gomez’s Louis Vuitton booties may not find their way into your closet any time soon, our look alike ensemble can — and it will only set you back $208.72. Just throw on your favorite black coat and rockstar shades, and you’ll be ready for the next Paris Fashion Week.

Wearing a cream-colored lace dress with cutouts in the middle of winter may sound wrong, but when Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland wore the very thing to the ELLE  Women in Television dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 20, it was very, very right.

Hyland attended the West Hollywood affair in what InStyle says is a cream Zimmermann frock with cutouts on the sides that gave way to an open back. She completed her look with nude Giuseppe Zanotti heels and sparkly Anita Ko rings.

Although Hyland’s look seems as though it came straight off the runway, a few modifications were made to the dress to make it the chic look she wore to the Women in Television dinner. According to The Daily Mail, the original number from Zimmermann’s Spring 2016 collection not only has sleeves, but also a ruffled hemline and lace-covered cutouts.

While this may mean you can’t take Hyland’s exact look for your own, there’s still hope for her gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti heels — or so we thought. Her patent leather tri-strap sandals cost a whopping $850 from Net-a-Porter. But don’t let the high price spoil your attempt to recreate Hyland’s ensemble, because we’ve found all the pieces necessary to take her look for less than $200. Read on for the results!

Finding a lace dress with similar features to Hyland’s altered dress was quite the struggle, but we finally landed on the ASOS Lace Crop Top Skater Dress. Featuring a high neckline and sheer lace back, this dress gives similar hints of skin that Hyland’s dress does, but without dramatic alterations. The cropped layer also emphasizes your waist in a way akin to the fringe on the top of Hyland’s frock. The best apart about this dress — it’s currently on sale for $39.

Capping off our look for less is a pretty pair of nude sandals, and we’ve found the perfect pair in the form of the Four Strap Barely There Sandals from Missguided. Although these sandals have one strap more that Hyland’s heels, they share the same basic silhouette and style, making them a great way to finish off your look-alike ensemble for only $51.

While Hyland’s look cost upwards of $850, our reimagined look with pieces from ASOS and Missguided will only set you back an even $90. Complete your look with your favorite silver rings and a chic topknot, and you’ll have Hyland’s look in no time!

When a women’s fashion magazine hosts a red carpet event, you can be certain of two things: that some very powerful and talented women will be in attendance and that they will be dressed to impress. And such was the case when Harper’s Bazaar UK held their Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday, Nov. 3 in London.

British icon honoree Kate Winslet stunned prior to the awards in what InStyle says is a black and white Roland Mouret asymmetrical sheath dress. Winslet paired her classic look with black pointed-toe pumps, some simple gold jewelry and a black clutch.

While Winslet’s look oozes a simple elegance, its price tag is anything but simple. Her Roland Mouret dress, the Beadle Stretch Crepe Sheath Dress, is available at Neiman Marcus for a lofty $2,295. If you love this look as much as we do, there’s still hope to make this look yours despite its high price — read on to see how we attempted to recreate her entire look for under $250.

Winslet’s Roland Mouret frock is certainly unique, so finding something to mimic the look was not easy, but we finally landed on the Vesper Sexy Pencil Dress with Bow Tie Waist from ASOS. While the dress doesn’t have similar cap sleeves, it does share its curve-hugging sheath silhouette, with white colorblocking on the same side as Winslet’s dress and in a diagonal pattern reminiscent of her dress. The other major difference — the price. This dress will only set you back $103.91.

Simple black pumps will take this classic look to the next level, and there’s no better shoe for the job than the Jessica Simpson Vivienne Pump from DSW. Done in a similar pointed-toe shape, these look-alike pumps will complete your look for only $69.95.

Completing our look for less is a black clutch, and not just any black clutch — the Sondra Roberts Mesh Ball Clutch from DSW. This embellished clutch upgrades the basic black evening bag, and it will upgrade your look for only $49.95.

Although Kate Winslet’s Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards look cost upwards of $2,295, we managed to recreate her entire look for only $223.81. Add your favorite gold jewelry, and you’ll have taken her look for your own.

Red carpets are often reserved for movie premieres and award shows, but on October 12, the red carpet was rolled out for Cosmopolitan magazine’s 50th Birthday Celebration in West Hollywood, California. And with an abundance of celebrities — from Olivia Culpo to Maria Menounos — attending the event, there was no shortage of great fashion. But our favorite look happened to come courtesy of the always-fashionable Sarah Hyland.

The Modern Family star stepped out at Ysabel in what InStyle says is a sleek black pantsuit by DSquared2. Going for a sexier look, Hyland opted to go sans blouse, completing her look with a layered choker at her neck and sheer houndstooth pumps by Nicholas Kirkwood.

Hyland’s red carpet style is certainly the object of our envy, but its price is less than enviable. Her DSquared2 suit — which seems to be a single-button version of the Sergeant Suit — costs a lofty $2,960. Her Nicholas Kirkwood Prism Lace Houndstooth pumps also cost a pretty penny, totaling $598.26. With her outfit costing $3,558.26, taking her look for our own may be out of the question. Or is it? We set out to find all the pieces necessary to take her look for under $200, and the results may surprise you. Read on to see how we did!

First on our shopping list was a blazer worthy to serve as a substitute for Hyland’s DSquared2 number, and we found it in the form of the Satin Lapel Tailored Blazer from Missguided. This blazer features a single-button style and deep v-neckline reminiscent of Hyland’s jacket, while its satin lapel also invokes the sheen of her DSquared2 look. For as similar as these blazers are, they differ in one important area: price. This Missguided piece will only set you back $59.90.

To complete our pantsuit look are the ASOS Crop Trousers. Featuring a similar slim-cut and cropped-leg silhouette, these trousers will easily pass for Hyland’s DSquared trousers, but will only cost you $39.41.

Finding houndstooth pumps to compete with Hyland’s Nicholas Kirkwood style was no easy task, but we finally landed on the Martina Pointed Toe Pumps from Nine West. Although these pumps aren’t sheer, they feature an exact houndstooth pattern to replicate Hyland’s heels. These Nine West heels will polish off your outfit for only $59.99.

To add a little bit of shine to your look, try out the Cutout Collar Choker from Forever 21. Mimicking Hyland’s double-strand choker, you can add this choker to your look for a mere $6.90.

Although Sarah Hyland’s Cosmopolitan 50th Birthday Celebration look cost $3,558.26, we were able to recreate her entire look for less — a whole $3,392.06 less, with our look-alike ensemble will only set you back $166.20.
