Taurasi named ‘Athlete of the Year’

When you think women’s basketball, you will surely think of Diana Taurasi.

This week, Taurasi further cemented her status as the face of women’s basketball when she was named USA Basketball’s Female Athlete of the Year; according to ESPNW, this is the fourth time the team captain was picked to receive the honor.

And it was certainly well-deserved: ESPNW reports that at the 2016 Olympics alone, “Taurasi averaged an impressive team-best 15.6 points, 3.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game, and the U.S. won its sixth-straight gold medal.”
