‘Jessica Jones’ gets female direction

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is about to be much more female centric — and not in terms of the series’ title character.

According to the Huffington Post, Variety  reported that Executive Producer Melissa Rosenberg said Jessica Jones’ second season will be directed entirely by female directors.

While she acknowledged that the idea wasn’t hers from the outset, the Huffington Post said she was immediately excited by the thought of acting on it.

Announcing the news at an event about diversity in Hollywood hosted by the the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, the Huffington Post says Rosenberg offered that “creating a diverse behind-the-scenes team is ‘a conscious decision, and it’s very important that showrunners do that.'”

Here’s hoping that other shows will ‘take her lead’!
