H&M unveils wedding shop, recreates royal gown

There’s a first for everything, and for H&M, their ‘first’ came with the launch of their wedding shop.

According to InStyle, the global fashion retailer has unveiled their very first wedding shop, and with it comes dozens of styles for everyone from the bride to the wedding guests. Featuring long and short lace dresses, adorable flower girl looks and pleated numbers, the line certainly offers an array of styles fit for any wedding.

However, InStyle points out that the line’s centerpiece happens to be a gown that looks almost exactly like Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen wedding gown, replicating the look’s lace sleeves, sweetheart neckline and A-line skirt — the only things missing, InStyle reports, are the “9-foot train and the hefty price tag.”

How much would H&M’s Kate Middleton dupe set you back? Try $250, as opposed to the real deal’s rumored $434,000.

That’s all the reason you need to rush over to H&M’s site to view the introductory styles from their new wedding collection.

L.K. Bennett and Jenny Packham team up for bridal shoe collection

Bridal style is all about feeling beautiful and confident on your big day, and a brand-new collaboration is here to make sure you feel nothing but special at your wedding.

Cue L.K. Bennett and Jenny Packham’s new line of bridal handbags and shoes, which Cosmopolitan says includes “16 footwear designs with varying heel heights, bling, and appliqués” that “also includes four different handbags.” Inspired by Old Hollywood glamour, Cosmo says the line specifically drew on the styles of icons such as Bette Davis Vivien Leigh.

From classic T-strap heeled sandals to kitten-heeled slingbacks, the line employs timeless styles that are as classic as they are elegant. The styles — both handbags and shoes — feature delicate lace, bows and dainty embellishments that offer enough detail to make the accessories visually interesting without being distracting.

For Packham, combining her self-titled brand’s timeless style with that of L.K. Bennett’s was an easy project:

“There is a strong synergy between the L.K.Bennett woman and the Jenny Packham bride, so it seemed natural and very exciting for me to collaborate with their design team,” Packham said in the statement. “A project of passion, the combination of the Jenny Packham aesthetic with the renowned design heritage and quality of L.K.Bennett has resulted in a beautiful collection of shoes and bags of which I am very proud.”

Cosmo says the collection retails between $295 and $745, and is currently available at L.K. Bennett stores and on L.K. Bennett’s website here.

Middelton Speaks on Mental Health

While Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton may be known for her royal status and fashionable outfits, this week, she is making headlines for other reasons.

According to Peoplethe royal released a new PSA discussing mental health issues for children. In the three-and-a-half minute video, Middleton met with schoolchildren from the Salusbury Primary School in London, asking them if they feel they can talk comfortably with their friends at school.

A part of the launch of Children’s Mental Health Week in the United Kingdom, the video shows Middleton talking with kids about Place2Be, a charity that “provides emotional and therapeutic services in primary and secondary schools.”

Speaking on the importance of providing children with mental health resources, the princess said, “Every child deserves to grow up feeling confident that they won’t fall at the first hurdle, that they cope with life’s setbacks.”

Adding that some children struggle with life’s challenges, Middleton said, While we cannot always change a child’s circumstances, we can give them the tools to cope, and to thrive … With early support they can learn to manage their emotions and feelings and know when to seek help.”

The PSA follows several school visits, says People, in which she gave a public address on the issue and joined husband Prince William in confronting the shame surrounding mental illness.

Catherine Roche, Place2Be’s chief executive, praised Middleton for her work to bring awareness to children’s mental illness.

“Children’s Mental Health Week which this year focuses on the benefits of building children’s resilience as a key life skill to help cope with life’s difficult situations, both in childhood and into adult years,” she said. “We are hugely grateful to the Duchess for helping to remove the stigma around children’s mental health and for shining a spotlight on the value of supporting children in school from an early age.”
