A major fashion campaign is about to get a boost from one of music’s best known stars.
According to Glamour, Britney Spears is headlining Kenzo’s “La Collection Memento N°2,” the “the second installment of the brand’s archival-inspired capsule.” Celebrating icons, Glamour says the campaign was shot by Peter Lindbergh in Los Angeles, who is also an icon in his own right.
“Britney is certainly an icon and the quintessential queen of denim,” the brand said in a statement, Glamour reports. “Of similar stature in the photo world is Peter Lindbergh, whose British Vogue cover of Linda, Naomi, Cindy, Tatiana, and Christy ignited the age of the supermodel.… Lindbergh captured Britney in all her American Dream glory and beauty.”
As for the campaign’s images, Glamour reports that they are “meant to be read as ‘a bit cheeky, optimistic, and joyous,'” reflective of the “youthful” collection — and apparently, the vibe on the set of the photoshoot, according to Spears.
“We had fun on set, even though it was a bit weird for me at first,” she told Vogue. “I am used to shooting in a studio or a small space, and this was on the street. We were out there and I had really promiscuous clothes on, which felt odd, but of course, on film it turned out to be really cool.”
And turn out cool it did. Check out photos from the campaign here.
High fashion is coming to one of the biggest worldwide retailers, and the collaboration is nothing short of amazing.
Launching on Nov. 3, POPSUGAR reports that the Kenzo x H&M collaboration is packed with bold looks, with the main print in the line being tiger stripes that “appear on everything from rollneck tops to high-waisted leggings.”
The line also includes “an oversize[d] jacket and a parka to take you into Winter and, of course, let’s not forget the black Kenzo logo gloves and the tiger-print crossbody bag,” according to POPSUGAR, promising a jam-packed collection filled with edgy styles.
A brand courtesy of designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, H&M’s head of design Ann-Sofie Johansson promises that Kenzo’s collaboration with the retailer will offer a unique style that contrasts their previous design partnerships.
“Balmain was glamorous and sexy,” Johansson said, according to POPSUGAR, “and this is vibrant, young, and fun.”
An image of one of the dresses from the collection has already found its way around the Internet, and certainly lives up to the hype surrounding the collaboration. Featuring bright blues, oranges and greens, as well as an abstract leopard print, ruffles and a collar, this dress makes fashion fun and dynamic.
Can’t wait for the collaboration to hit stores? POPSUGAR says the line will hit 250 stores worldwide and will also be available online when it launches in November.
Although Laverne Cox is known for her role on Orange is the New Black, she proved Wednesday night that yellow is the new black bag.
Cosmopolitan reports that on July 15, Cox attended a screening of Irrational Man at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. She showed up in style, of course, with The Daily Mail reporting that Cox wore a navy dress by Opening Ceremony which she paired with black patent Louboutin booties and a bright yellow tote by Kenzo.
Although we adore Cox’s entire outfit, her sunny tote is the object of our envy. The cheerful Kenzo Kalifornia Tote, made of luxurious calfskin leather, comes at a not-so-cheerful price however: the pink version of the tote is currently on sale on ShopBop for $794.50, but originally retailed for $1,135. Because we won’t be paying anywhere near $794.50 to copy Cox’s look, we decided to find a couple of options to mimic her chic yellow tote for less.
To copy the shape of Cox’s Kenzo tote, we chose the Rebecca Minkoff Mab Tote Mini from Zappos.com. Available in a strikingly similar electric yellow, this tote is the perfect option to imitate not only the structured look of Cox’s tote but also its eye-catching color. What makes this tote even better is its lower price tag of $195!

To incorporate the zipper details on Cox’s tote, we chose the Milly Astor Pebbled Dome Satchel Bag in Limeade. Although this bag comes in a dome satchel style that is different from Cox’s box-style tote, it still offers the same bold yellow featuring zipper hardware across the front. This tote will make your wardrobe and your wallet happy, coming it at only $147 at Neiman Marcus LastCall.

So there you have it — two great options to take Laverne Cox’s bold yellow tote style for less. With two gorgeous, high-quality bags priced under $200, one of them is sure to find its way into your wardrobe!
