Missguided makes inclusive new campaign

Seeing every body of every shape, size and color is always refreshing — especially when it comes in a fashion campaign.

Take Missguided, for example: called the #MakeYourMark campaign, Glamour reports that the new promos star “eight women of all sizes, skin tones, and styles,” and throughout the campaign’s webpage, quotes from each model explaining why they feel the campaign is important are included.

According to Glamour, the move towards creating the inclusive and diverse campaign comes after the company started to not Photoshop their e-commerce models’ photos, instead leaving in noticeable stretch marks and other perceived “flaws.”

Creative manager for Missguided Samantha Helligso told The Daily Mail that their focus on creating a more body positive space comes in an attempt to teach shoppers to love themselves as they are and celebrate what’s right about their bodies instead of pointing out what is “wrong” or “flawed.”

“We’re on a mission to show our audience it’s okay to be yourself, embrace your ‘flaws,’ celebrate individuality, and not strive for what the world perceives as perfection,” she said, according to Glamour. “Because basically, it doesn’t exist. By showing imagery that’s real and authentic, we want to show it’s more than okay to be yourself. All you have is what you’ve got, so own it every day.”

Amen to that! Check out photos from the campaign here.

Missguided ditches Photoshop in new apparel photos

Nobody — and no body — is perfect. And thanks to a diminished reliance on photo editing, we are now starting to see that in the fashion and retail industries.

Take Missguided, for example. According to PopSugarthe British retailer is now featuring models with visible stretch marks in their photos. Posting two photos to Instagram of a model showing off their velvet lingerie set, PopSugar says the photo ditches Photoshop to highlight the natural markings on the model’s body.

While not all of their photos have been swapped for unretouched images, PopSugar reports “there are now a handful more in swimsuits and dresses that show off marks on their chests, legs, and backs.”

The move was largely lauded on social media, with one user telling other brands to “take note” of their effort, says PopSugar, because “our perfect ‘imperfections’ don’t need to be scrubbed out.”

Amen to that!

Ferreira is fierce in new Missguided+ campaign

British retailer Missguided is being guided into the fall 2016 fashion season in the best possible way: with model Barbara Ferreira at the fore of their latest ads for Missguided+.

According to Fashionista.com, Ferreira is front and center for the retailer’s size 12-20 line, but her presence in the ads aren’t just about showcasing the latest fall styles. Fashionista.com reports that “just as Missguided+ is here to ’empower girls to dress however they want, regardless of size,’ according to a press release, Ferreira is ‘unashamed and confident within her skin,’ a perfect embodiment of the Missguided+ loud-and-proud ethos.”

Aligning with both Missguided’s mission and Ferreira’s personification of their goals, Fashionista.com says the campaign was completely unretouched, allowing Ferreira to show off the clothes — and her curves — uninhibited by unwanted Photoshopping.

In a statement released by Ferreira, Fashionista.com says the model explained that Missguided’s clothing and their latest campaign aim to prove that good style is accessible to women of all shapes and sizes:

”I loved working with Missguided on this new campaign. The clothes are a statement, and anyone can have access to this collection,” she said. “Missguided doesn’t exclude anyone’s beauty and they provide a range that isn’t like anything else. The clothes are fearless and just in a few extra sizes. The collection can let you be a badass b*tch without an asterisk or a label.”

And if that doesn’t make you want to check out their fall collection, nothing will. Click here to see some of Ferreira’s photos from the campaign

Although Fashion Week wrapped up in New York City last week, the parade of this year’s newest fashions is continuing across the pond in London, and the shows are shaping up to be just as much about as those in attendance as the styles making their way down the runway.

According to InStyleone such fashionable guest was Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who attended the Burberry fall/winter 2016 show on Feb. 22. Dressed in head-to-toe Burberry, the model wore a military-inspired coat over a pintuck blouse, which she paired with wide-legged trousers. She completed her look with a cool chain-link bag.

Huntington-Whiteley’s military-inspired look may seem fairly simple with its monochromatic color scheme, but don’t let that fool you. With military-style coats starting from the new collection starting at a cool $2,595, this entire Burberry look is sure to cost you a pretty penny. Although the price might be high, don’t give up hope yet — we’ve found all the pieces necessary to recreate her entire look for under $200. Read on for the results!

Finding a military-inspired coat to rival Huntington-Whiteley’s Burberry number was no easy task, but the Military Faux Wool Coat in navy from Missguided offers a good alternative at a fraction of the price. Done in a darker navy, this coat features a similar double-breasted button style in a shorter length. Available for $85, this coat will form the basis of our look for less.

The cold weather of Park City, Utah couldn’t turn down the heat of Scandal star Kerry Washington’s Sundance Film Festival look.

On Jan. 23, Washington made an appearance at the premiere of HBO’s Confirmation on the third day of the festival, wearing a black leather top by Ji Oh, a white faux-wrap skirt by Tibi and thigh-high Stuart Weitzman boots. She completed her look with a bit of bling, wearing Jennifer Mayer rings, according to the actress’ Instagram account.

Washington’s Sundance ensemble seems pretty easy to replicate, but its price is not as easy as we hoped — her Tibi skirt alone costs $425 from Nordstrom. While her designer-laden outfit is sophisticated and just a tad bit sexy, we’ve found all the pieces necessary to create a look-alike ensemble that is just as stunning for under $200. Read on for the results!

First on our shopping list was a faux leather top, and we found the perfect tank for the job in the form of the Faux Leather Crop Top from Forever21. This faux-leather cropped number will deliver a similar look to Washington’s top for only $17.90.

A white wrap skirt will form the second part of our three-pronged look, and the Textured Wrap Front Midi Skirt from Missguided offers the perfect alternative to Washington’s expensive Tibi number. Although this skirt has a closer-fitting silhouette than Washington’s more A-line skirt, this option from Missguided delivers a sexy front slit reminiscent of Washington’s style, and it does so for a mere $17.

Completing our look for less are gorgeous over-the-knee boots courtesy of DSW. The Unisa Saranaa Over the Knee Boots offer a gorgeous faux-suede over a heeled construction, making these the perfect boots to replicate Washington’s Stuart Weitzman pair. These, however, will only set you back $79.95.

Wearing a cream-colored lace dress with cutouts in the middle of winter may sound wrong, but when Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland wore the very thing to the ELLE  Women in Television dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 20, it was very, very right.

Hyland attended the West Hollywood affair in what InStyle says is a cream Zimmermann frock with cutouts on the sides that gave way to an open back. She completed her look with nude Giuseppe Zanotti heels and sparkly Anita Ko rings.

Although Hyland’s look seems as though it came straight off the runway, a few modifications were made to the dress to make it the chic look she wore to the Women in Television dinner. According to The Daily Mail, the original number from Zimmermann’s Spring 2016 collection not only has sleeves, but also a ruffled hemline and lace-covered cutouts.

While this may mean you can’t take Hyland’s exact look for your own, there’s still hope for her gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti heels — or so we thought. Her patent leather tri-strap sandals cost a whopping $850 from Net-a-Porter. But don’t let the high price spoil your attempt to recreate Hyland’s ensemble, because we’ve found all the pieces necessary to take her look for less than $200. Read on for the results!

Finding a lace dress with similar features to Hyland’s altered dress was quite the struggle, but we finally landed on the ASOS Lace Crop Top Skater Dress. Featuring a high neckline and sheer lace back, this dress gives similar hints of skin that Hyland’s dress does, but without dramatic alterations. The cropped layer also emphasizes your waist in a way akin to the fringe on the top of Hyland’s frock. The best apart about this dress — it’s currently on sale for $39.

Capping off our look for less is a pretty pair of nude sandals, and we’ve found the perfect pair in the form of the Four Strap Barely There Sandals from Missguided. Although these sandals have one strap more that Hyland’s heels, they share the same basic silhouette and style, making them a great way to finish off your look-alike ensemble for only $51.

While Hyland’s look cost upwards of $850, our reimagined look with pieces from ASOS and Missguided will only set you back an even $90. Complete your look with your favorite silver rings and a chic topknot, and you’ll have Hyland’s look in no time!

There was a party down under, and celebrities turned out in high style to mark the occasion. On Oct. 29, the H&M Sydney Flagship store held a VIP party in Sydney, Australia, and showing up in one of the most eye-catching looks of the night was Solange Knowles.

Wearing nothing but an oversized blazer that served as her dress, InStyle says Knowles paired her risqué look with black Schutz cage heels and a sparkly black frame clutch. She capped off her look with a slick of bright orange eyeliner and voluminous locks.

We loved Solange Knowles’ daring night-out look, but her Schutz Juliana Caged Sandals alone cost $190. So we set out to recreate her entire outfit for less than $190 — that’s a dress, shoes and clutch for under the cost of her shoes. Read on for the results!

It was surprisingly easy to find a dress similar to Knowles’ oversized blazer look, and we found the perfect look-alike piece in the form of the Long Sleeve Tux Dress from Missguided. This dress’s double-breasted design, gold buttons and satiny lapel invoke Knowles’ frock and deliver a strikingly similar silhouette for only $68.

A dress like this calls for a fabulous shoe, and there is no better shoe for the job than the Zigi Soho Duran Bootie from DSW. Featuring a similar cage design, this shoe offers an extra bit of shine with its tiny rhinestone embellishment. For only $79.95, these shoes come in well under Knowles’ $190 Schutz style, but are just as fashionable.

Although we are a few months beyond the reach of the summer blockbuster season, the show must go on, and red carpets are being continually rolled out for the latest movie premieres of the fall. And on Oct. 19, the stars of the recently released Nasty Baby strolled down the red carpet at the film’s premiere at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood, California.

Our favorite look of the night came courtesy of Kristen Wiig. According to Just Jared, Wiig wore a pale blush Brandon Maxwell crop top that she paired with matching trousers, pairing the whole ensemble with Sophia Webster shoes. She completed her look with a tousled updo and minimal jewelry.

Wiig’s sexy-meets-sophisticated look stole our hearts, but its hefty price tag, however, left us cold. Her crop top — the Suit Top Bustier — is from the Brandon Maxwell Spring 2016 Collection, which alone costs a lofty $825 from Moda Operandi‘s Brandon Maxwell trunkshow. Couple that with her trousers — the Cropped Wide Leg Trouser — for $795, and we’re looking at an outfit that costs upwards of $1,620. But if you want to take this look for your own, we’ve found all the pieces necessary to recreate Wiig’s entire look for under $200. Read on for the results!

Finding a crop top and trousers in this unique blush/oatmeal hue was rather difficult, which led us to expanding our search to include other neutrals. Just then, we landed on the Notched Crop Top from Forever 21. Although it’s done in a stark white, the straight neckline invoked the top of Wiig’s crop top, while its notched hem served as an attention-getting device that works in a similar way to the rounded hemline on the Brandon Maxwell top. Coming in at only $12.90, this top is a great piece from which to build our look for less.

To complete this look, we opted for the Premium Crepe Wide Leg Trousers from Missguided. Featuring a similar wide-leg silhouette and high-waisted design, these trousers will perfectly complement your crop top, and it will do so for only $51.

Although Kristen Wiig’s Brandon Maxwell ensemble cost upwards of $1,620, we were able to recreate her entire look for not only less than $200, but less than $100, coming in at a mere $63.90. At a price like that, you can go splurge on some killer heels to pair with your new outfit.

Red carpets are often reserved for movie premieres and award shows, but on October 12, the red carpet was rolled out for Cosmopolitan magazine’s 50th Birthday Celebration in West Hollywood, California. And with an abundance of celebrities — from Olivia Culpo to Maria Menounos — attending the event, there was no shortage of great fashion. But our favorite look happened to come courtesy of the always-fashionable Sarah Hyland.

The Modern Family star stepped out at Ysabel in what InStyle says is a sleek black pantsuit by DSquared2. Going for a sexier look, Hyland opted to go sans blouse, completing her look with a layered choker at her neck and sheer houndstooth pumps by Nicholas Kirkwood.

Hyland’s red carpet style is certainly the object of our envy, but its price is less than enviable. Her DSquared2 suit — which seems to be a single-button version of the Sergeant Suit — costs a lofty $2,960. Her Nicholas Kirkwood Prism Lace Houndstooth pumps also cost a pretty penny, totaling $598.26. With her outfit costing $3,558.26, taking her look for our own may be out of the question. Or is it? We set out to find all the pieces necessary to take her look for under $200, and the results may surprise you. Read on to see how we did!

First on our shopping list was a blazer worthy to serve as a substitute for Hyland’s DSquared2 number, and we found it in the form of the Satin Lapel Tailored Blazer from Missguided. This blazer features a single-button style and deep v-neckline reminiscent of Hyland’s jacket, while its satin lapel also invokes the sheen of her DSquared2 look. For as similar as these blazers are, they differ in one important area: price. This Missguided piece will only set you back $59.90.

To complete our pantsuit look are the ASOS Crop Trousers. Featuring a similar slim-cut and cropped-leg silhouette, these trousers will easily pass for Hyland’s DSquared trousers, but will only cost you $39.41.

Finding houndstooth pumps to compete with Hyland’s Nicholas Kirkwood style was no easy task, but we finally landed on the Martina Pointed Toe Pumps from Nine West. Although these pumps aren’t sheer, they feature an exact houndstooth pattern to replicate Hyland’s heels. These Nine West heels will polish off your outfit for only $59.99.

To add a little bit of shine to your look, try out the Cutout Collar Choker from Forever 21. Mimicking Hyland’s double-strand choker, you can add this choker to your look for a mere $6.90.

Although Sarah Hyland’s Cosmopolitan 50th Birthday Celebration look cost $3,558.26, we were able to recreate her entire look for less — a whole $3,392.06 less, with our look-alike ensemble will only set you back $166.20.

Amanda Seyfried has been a fashion muse for many, often wearing enviable outfits on and off the red carpet. But as The Daily Mail reports, the actress was once a ‘brand muse’ for a skincare line, Shiseido’s Cle de Peau Beaute Tokyo.

Seyfried stepped back into this role once again on Oct. 9 when she attended the company’s launch event in Tokyo, Japan at the Palace Hotel Tokyo. Looking as stunning as ever, Seyfried kept her look simple and elegant with a white sheath dress by Antonio Berardi, says InStyle, which she paired alongside silver Bionda Castana lace-up pumps. She polished off her look with loose, side-swept waves and natural, dewy makeup.

Seyfried’s white and silver launch event look was breathtaking, but so were the prices on some of the pieces in her outfit. Take her pumps, for example. Her gorgeous metallic Bionda Canstana pumps — the Lana pumps — are available in a different color at Farfetch for a lofty $874.53. If these pumps are out of your price range, never fear — not only have we found the perfect pumps to replace Seyfried’s pricey pair, we’ve also found a dress to mimic her entire look, and all for under $200. Read on for the results!

First on our shopping list was a curve-hugging white dress, and we found the perfect alternative in the form of the Ponte Wrap Hem Bodycon Dress from Missguided. Featuring a split hemline reminiscent of Seyfried’s Antonio Berardi number, this dress will show off your curves while also maintaining a clean, crisp silhouette. Available for only $34, this dress is the perfect piece from which to build the rest of our look for less.

Finding pumps to rival Seyfried’s silver Bionda Castana heels was no easy task, but we finally landed on the Sheer the Wealth Silver Glitter Mesh Pumps from Lulu’s. Featuring a similar pointed-toe silhouette and toe-box cutouts, these heels will easily pass for Seyfried’s pricier pumps — but they’ll only set you back $34.

Completing the look is a simple bangle, and there’s no better bangle for the job than the Karat Slim Cuff Bracelet from BaubleBar. Done in a hematite tone, this bracelet will add some shine to your outfit without competing with your sparkly metallic heels, and it will do so for only $32.

Amanda Seyfried is certainly our style muse in this white Antonio Berardi dress and silver Bionda Castana heels, but while we envy her look, we definitely don’t envy its high price, costing upwards of $874.53. But because we believe that high fashion doesn’t have to come at a high price, we recreated her entire look for well under our $200 budget, coming it at an even $100. At a price like this, you have no reason not to go shopping for this look!
