Relive the Met Gala with new makeup collection

Every day can feel like the Met Gala, thanks to a brand-new makeup collection by Pat McGrath.

According to PopSugar, the famed makeup artist “teamed up with NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art (which hosts the event) to launch a line of apparel and makeup inspired by the gala’s theme, ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.'”

The mini-collection includes three pieces, all of which infuse the Met Gala theme in ways both subtle and blatant. For example, the brand’s Lust gloss will now be available in “Aliengelic,” says PopSugar, a “hydrating topcoat that applies like a balm or treatment while giving your pout a three-dimensional shine.”

Also included in the line is a five-pan palette called “Mothership IV: Decadence,” which PopSugar says features colors such as rose gold and turquoise. Finally, the Met Gala-themed collection offers two T-shirt styles, reports PopSugar, the product of a collaboration with the museum that produced a long-sleeve look that showcases a 13th-century statue from the Met Collection and another that features a gold foil Cloisters-inspired crown.

Available both online and at the museum starting May 8, PopSugar says the collection’s gloss sells for $28, while the palette retails for $125 and the long-sleeve T-shirt goes for $82.

Urban Decay debuts new Naked Heat palette

What makes a beloved Urban Decay Naked palette ten times better? When it comes in fun-size, of course.

According to Glamour, the company is following up on its wildly successful Naked Heat palette with a mini palette called the Naked Petite Heat, a “six-pan compact” that “features the same terracottas and burnished reds, this time in a matte-only collection.”

While the colors don’t overlap with the colors in the full-sized Naked Heat, they are almost identical, says Glamour, containing “a pale, slightly shimmery highlight shade, a sand, a red-orange, a red-based brown, and a deep plum-purple color.”

The six-shade palette will debut in the U.S. on Feb. 22 and will retail for $29, though it’s presale is already out of stock on UD’s website.

According to PopSugar, the tattoo artists and makeup maven is releasing a Metal Matte II Palette, filled with matte metallic options that shimmer just enough to wear during the holiday season.

Also coming our way is a travel-size Metal Crush bundle, says PopSugar, with both products serving as follow-ups to Von D’s limited edition Metal Matte Palette of 2016, which offered 21 shades with nine shimmery options.

While it’s clear that these products are in the works, PopSugar says there is no indication of a release date yet.

MAC teases ‘basic’ eye shadow palette

A new eye shadow palette may be coming your way very soon, according to Marie Claire.

While Milan Fashion Week was underway, Marie Claire says Netta Szekely — senior makeup artists at MAC Cosmetics — took to Instagram to reveal a forthcoming eye shadow palette called, “Basic Bitch.” The palette, which “includes eight new eyeshadows and what appears to be a highlighter,” features all of the most versatile colors a palette could ever boast, ranging from a wine-colored hue to a gun-metal grey.

Marie Claire also says the palette includes a highlighter, which goes by the name of “Love This Bitch.” The pale rose color offers a hint of shimmer, as opposed to colors such as “Shy Girl” and “Tattle Tale,” which are more overtly sparkly.

Although the new palette is certainly exciting, Marie Claire reports that there is no word yet on its release.

You know what Beyoncé says: “You know you that bitch when you cause all this conversation.”
