Gomez to design fall collection for Coach

If we needed yet another reason to look forward to fall fashion, Selena Gomez just gifted us one.

According to PopSugar, the multi-hyphenate and Coach brand ambassador is teaming up with Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers yet again to create a full Fall 2018 ready-to-wear collection. Launching for preorder on Aug. 14, PopSugar says the collection — which will have a pervasive “powerful feminine spirit” — will be available in Coach stores around the world by Aug. 31.

As for Gomez, she says she’s excited to continue her partnership with the brand in such a creative way.

“I am so excited to be working with Coach again,” she said in a press release. “Getting to create my own collection with Stuart has been such a fun process, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have been working on over the past several months.”

Gomez gives body-positive response following IG comments

Can’t a girl just go on vacation with her friends? While that could have been the response Selena Gomez left for body shamers on her Instagram, she instead chose to make it a teachable moment.

According to Marie Claire, when the multi-hyphenate started posting some bikini-clad photos from a recent vacation — some of which revealed scars from her recent kidney transplant surgery — some followers saw it as an opportunity to comment on her physique. However, Gomez didn’t let the comments get to her; instead, Marie Claire said she posted a moving response focused on self care:

“The beauty myth-an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty. I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone.
Wind in her sails. 🌈💜”

And with this one post, Gomez instantly pointed out — and destroyed — the confines within which women everywhere are placed.

Gomez goes ’70s glam in Coach campaign

Never has leather looked so good. But when you put Selena Gomez and Coach handbags in the same photo, the results are stunning.

Look no further than the singer-actress’ first-ever campaign for Coach, which ELLE says features Gomez in several ’70s style photos shot by Steven Meisel. Clutching rich leather bags, Gomez is draped in lush furs, giving the photos a luxurious vibe that screams fall fashion.

Gomez gets stylish with Coach

After a social media and spotlight hiatus, Selena Gomez is back in the game — and with with news of an all-new collaboration.

According to InStyle, the multi-hyphenate took to Instagram last week to share news of her collaboration with Coach. Sharing a photo of herself posing with a burgundy wallet, InStyle says Gomez wrote in the caption, “Being able to create is my favorite thing in the whole world. I’m so excited to be a part of the vision and family @coach AND I get the honor to design with @stuartvevers -ahhhhhh.”

While her caption indicates a full-out design collaboration, The Daily Mail reports that Gomez will primarily act as Coach’s brand ambassador, but will also co-design a piece for the forthcoming line with the brand’s creative director, Stuart Evers.

With a stylish comeback in the works, Gomez’s 2017 is shaping up to be a good year for the superstar.

Gomez to revive tour looks in new collection

Sick of your same old style? Selena Gomez is here to help.

According to InStyle, the “Same Old Love” singer offered an inside look at her new Revival tour collection, designed by Sami Miró. Posting a photo of herself in a sheer bodysuit performing in front of backup dancers, Gomez confirmed the forthcoming collection when she captioned the shot with, “My bbs wearing our @revivaltour collection coming soon with @samimiro,” says InStyle.

Miró posted the same photo, along with “a link to her website, where the sheer bodysuit ($210; samimirovintage.com) is currently available to purchase,” reports InStyle, which is similar to a look the singer wore at a Singapore performance.

While InStyle says that the remaining pieces included in the collection are still a mystery, one thing is for sure: if you love Selena Gomez’s style, you’ll want to keep an eye out for her Revival tour collection — and be sure to keep checking Miró’s website for new looks.

Louis Vuitton gets Gomez for latest campaign

Every time she hits the red carpet, Selena Gomez consistently tops the best-dressed lists. So it should come as no surprise that the “Hands to Myself” singer has recently scored a starring role in a major fashion campaign.

According to InStyle, Gomez will be front and center in the latest campaign for Louis Vuitton, with the famous luxury brand’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière giving a sneak peak of the star’s work for the new LV Series 5 campaign on Friday, June 17.

The leading image for the campaign, taken by famed photographer Bruce Weber, features Gomez decked out in an oversized faux fur hat, accompanied by “a sleek black, frayed bomber jacket, a leather-bra-adorned top, matching high-waist, sporty leggings and a scarf that’s wrapped around a Petite Malle mini-trunk handbag in Vuitton’s iconic monogram print,” reports InStyle.

Gomez and Ghesquière also took to their own Instagram accounts to share other images from her forthcoming campaign, one of which shows Gomez in a green and blue midi-length dress with a floral chiffon underskirt, paired with black sneaker-boots with a chunky heel — and of course a Louis Vuitton top-handle bag.

InStyle says that Ghesquière posted a photo to Instagram with Gomez on set of her photoshoot the day prior to the campaign’s announcement to hint at a collaboration. The photo shows Gomez in a black and white ankle-length gown with futuristic metallic lace-up booties.

While only a few photos from the campaign have hit the web thus far, we are sure to see many more fabulous looks come from the collaboration in the near future.

Take Her Look [For Less]

While Paris Fashion Week slowed to a halt on March 9, it seemed as though the celebrities in attendance only amped up their fashion for the final day of shows.

Such was the case with Selena Gomez, who attended the star-studded Louis Vuitton show. The “Hands to Myself” singer gave her own fashion show when she showed up in head-to-toe Louis Vuitton, according to ELLE; sporting a crisp white button down under a black overcoat, Gomez paired the top with a dark wash denim skirt. The star of her look, however, was her Louis Vuitton snakeskin booties.

If you are drooling over her snakeskin shoes, you may want to wipe up the saliva from your chin before you find out how much they cost. These Louis Vuitton stunners — the Cosplay Low Boot — which feature a pixelated python print and a metal toe cap, will set you back a lofty $3,800. While that is out of reach for most of our budgets, we’ve found all the pieces necessary to recreate Gomez’s entire look for (way) less than her pricey booties. Read on for the results!

Starting off our look for less is a simple white button down, and the Textured Cotton Shirt from Forever 21 is a cost-effective blouse for the job. This utility piece will be a versatile wardrobe staple for a mere $19.90.

A dark wash denim skirt will complete the basics of Gomez’s look, and ASOS offers the perfect option in the form of the Jack Wills Button Front 70s Style Denim Skirt. Done in a similar wash and silhouette, this skirt makes a great alternative to Gomez’s style, and it will only set you back $66.92.

Finding snakeskin booties to rival Gomez’s pricey Louis Vuitton style was no easy task, but the Lucky Brand Bartalino Bootie from Nordstrom certainly gives them a run for their money. While they aren’t quite as fancy as the Louis Vuittons, they are much more versatile, delivering a faux snakeskin in a casual western silhouette that can be worn with everything from this look-alike ensemble to your favorite pair of jeans. These versatile booties will definitely be worth their $99.95 price tag for all the wear you’ll get out of them.

Although nothing can compare to Gomez’s multi-colored Louis Vuitton bag, the Steven Madden Chaplin Crossbody Bag gives a similarly colorful look in a quilted design. This chainlink shoulder strap bag will add some color to your look for only $21.95.

While Gomez’s Louis Vuitton booties may not find their way into your closet any time soon, our look alike ensemble can — and it will only set you back $208.72. Just throw on your favorite black coat and rockstar shades, and you’ll be ready for the next Paris Fashion Week.

She Leads, You Follow: Jingle Ball Edition

Every great holiday season begins with a great playlist, and Z100’s 2015 Jingle Ball on Dec. 11 happened to do just that, delivering some of the hottest music from the biggest stars all in one place. New York City’s Madison Square Garden played host to the likes of Charlie Puth, Demi Lovato and even Nick Jonas as they ushered in the holiday season in the city with their most successful songs of the year. An added benefit of the star-studded event: the red carpet fashion prior to the show.

Setting the red carpet ablaze in a white-hot look was “Same Old Love” singer Selena Gomez, who attended the Jingle Ball concert in a white strapless bodycon dress. She paired her look with black pumps while styling her hair in long, loose waves.

Following suit in a red ensemble was Modern Family‘s Ariel Winter. Winter took to Jingle Ball in a cutout halter jumpsuit, which she paired with a metallic clutch and heels.

Adding a pop of color to the Jingle Ball red carpet was Kelsea Ballerini, who opted for a black tank and a Jay Godfrey turquoise skirt. The “Love Me Like You Mean It” singer polished off her ensemble with colorful Alejandra G. lace-up pumps, says Yahoo.

Although these ladies are dressed for the biggest musical event of the holiday season, there are certain things we can learn from their look to apply to the way we dress every day:

  1. Simple is stunning – Gomez’s white bodycon dress is certainly sexy, but it’s also quite simple. The dress has a very streamlined silhouette and has no embellishment, but it still manages to capture our attention. This is because it fits like a glove and accentuates her curves. When you shop for dresses, blouses, pants or skirts, be sure that each piece fits these three main points on your body: your bust, your natural waist and your hips. This means making sure that there is no pulling at the bust and hips, while also making sure that the waist fits snugly around your natural waist.
  2. Jump into jumpsuits – Winter’s ensemble reminds us that jumpsuits are a great option for holiday parties. This jumpsuit’s festive cranberry color makes it perfect for the holidays, and when paired with gold accessories (as Winter did), it makes it all the more ready for any party that may come your way. If you want to try a jumpsuit this season, be sure to pay attention to the details of the garment to determine where and how it can be worn. For example, a jumpsuit with cutouts like Winter’s may not be appropriate for a family gathering, but it could be fun for a night with friends.
  3. Add a splash of color – Ballerini may have opted for a bright color that’s not normally associated with the holidays, but the pop of color is a nice way to break the sea of red and green. If you want to try a pop of color this holiday season but don’t want to seem out of place, try it in smaller amounts; a turquoise necklace or bright pink pumps paired with an all-black ensemble is a chic, but subtle way to add some color into your holiday ensembles.

Take Her Look [For Less]

Very few women can pull off high-fashion looks, but Selena Gomez is certainly one of them.

W Magazine reports that the singer/actress double-threat attended the iHeart Music Presentation in Los Angeles on August 6 in a cream wrap dress by J.W. Anderson. The dress, part of J.W. Anderson’s Fall 2015 collection, is constructed from nappa leather and features dramatic 3/4 length sleeves, an oversized buckle at the waist, and a curved hemline. Gomez styled her fashion-forward look with a lucite cap-toed pump and minimal jewelry, letting her dress garner all the attention it deserves.

If Gomez’s dress is the object of your envy (as it is ours), you might want hold off on purchasing this dress before you know the price — in fact, you may want to sit down before we make the big reveal! This architectural stunner of a dress, the White Leather Curve Wrap Dress with Buckle by J.W. Anderson, was once available at Moda Operandi for an equally stunning price: $2,355. But, if you love Gomez’s look, you’ll want to read on, because we’ve recreated her look in what may be our best look for less yet!

Gomez’s J.W. Anderson dress offers a unique, high-fashion take on the classic wrap dress, so finding a frock that imitates its shape and belted style was no easy task. But we’ve found the perfect alternative to the pricey J.W. Anderson dress, and you won’t believe where we found it – Forever 21. The High Road dress by The Fifth Label offers a strikingly similar wrap style, complete with a curved hemline and wide belt. Featuring a deep v at the front and back of the dress, this frock allows you the opportunity to add jewelry in a way that won’t obstruct the neckline, which is something that Gomez’s dress didn’t allow for. And if that’s not enough, this dress is available for only $95.

Capping off the look is the Lucite Single Sole Cap-Toe Pumps from Charlotte Russe. These heels could easily pass for Gomez’s cap-toe heels and will complete your look for less for only $16.49.

Although we’d all love to own Gomez’s J.W. Anderson leather wrap dress, its $2,355 price tag simply won’t allow that dream to come true for most of us. But all hope isn’t lost, because our reimagined look can be yours for only $111.49 — that’s a $2,243.51 price difference! So if this look is on your style radar, hurry over to Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe to snatch up these great finds to own the look for yourself!

Take Her Look [For Less]

If you thought monochromatic was boring, Selena Gomez just proved you wrong. EOnline reported yesterday that Gomez was spotted in New York City earlier this week wearing an all black and white ensemble upon the release of her latest single, “Good For You,” and she showed us all that black and white is certainly good for her!

Gomez wore a black and white Balmain crop top (which she actually wore backwards so the zipper detail was in the front), pairing the top with high-waisted L’Agence trousers, Saint Laurent pointy-toe booties, a Gucci crossbody bag and Saint Laurent sunglasses.

While Gomez looks stunning in this outfit, what is perhaps most stunning is how much this complete outfit costs. EOnline reports that the completed look totaled $3,311, with her shoes alone making up a third of the price at $1,050! But, if you want to take Gomez’s look for less, you are in luck – we set out to recreate her entire look for only $150, and what we found may shock you!

The first order of business was finding a black and white crop top that was even remotely close to Gomez’s $611 Balmain top, which was no easy task. But, we managed to find a similar color-blocked style at Tobi — the Cross it Over Crop Top offers a black and white colorblock look with a high neckline reminiscent of Gomez’s Balmain look, but it has some cutouts that Gomez’s top does not have. What this top also has that Gomez’ top doesn’t is a small price tag: this top comes in at a reasonable $44!

Finding high-waisted black trousers sounds like it should be easy, but it actually was the hardest part of the process. After some searching, THL finally landed on the Trouser We Go Black High-Waisted Pants from Lulu’s. Although this trousers have the same high-waistline, they do not have the same wide-leg look, but it still creates a chic look nonetheless. These fitted trousers come in at $37, compared to Gomez’s $295 pair.

Because Gomez’s $1,050 Saint Laurent booties were completely covered by her trousers, we decided to go for a simple pointy-toe pump instead. We found these classic faux leather pointy-toe pumps from Forever 21 for only $19.90 to mimic the shape of Gomez’s booties without actually seeing the rest of the shoe.

Gomez’s logo-embossed $980 Gucci crossbody bag certainly cannot be duplicated, so we opted for a simple brown faux leather crossbody with a knotted detail on the front flap. This bag has a similar rich cognac tone to Gomez’s Gucci bag, but it definitely does not have the same price tag, coming it at only $22.90 at Forever 21.

Dark-tinted aviators complete the duplicate look for only $5.90 at Forever 21 — who could tell that these sunglasses aren’t the same $375 Saint Laurent glasses that Gomez is wearing?!

THL set out to recreate Selena Gomez’s $3,311 monochromatic look for less than $150, so how did we do? Our pieces from Tobi, Lulu’s and Forever 21 totaled only $129.70, affording this pricey look to all those who admire it! So if you love Gomez’s look but couldn’t get past the price, take our lead and try out some of our recommendations! Happy shopping!
