Model recreates Hadid’s nude photo shoot

All it takes is one person to make a difference, to highlight a different path or offer a different point of view. And model Diana Sirokai did just that in one photo.

According to PopSugar, the London-based curvy model decided to recreate a Stuart Weitzman ad featuring Gigi Hadid, in which Hadid is wearing nothing but a pair of Weitzman’s Clinger boots. In Sirokai’s version, PopSugar says the model went nude — save for a pair of black boots — and captioned her photo, “I was just wondering how a model my size would look on this.”

The result was an equally stunning photograph, one that shows that beauty is not determined by size or weight but by what projects from within: confidence, strength and inner beauty.

Hadid teams up with Stuart Weitzman for new shoe collaboration

Celebrity shoe collections seem to be a dime a dozen these days, but none are quite like the latest collaboration between Gigi Hadid and Stuart Weitzman.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, the model worked alongside the famed shoe company’s new creative director, Giovanni Morelli, to create a line of mules that “reflect her own fashion sensibility.” So far, the collaboration offers two styles, says Harper’s Bazaar, which include “the EyeLove (in ballet and deep indigo suede, with one eye motif) and the EyeLoveMore (in frosted grey suede with multiple eyes) – each lined with shearling.”

Working off of an evil eye motif, Hadid told Bazaar that adding the symbol to her shoe designs is about much more than making a fashion statement.

“The evil eye is a powerful symbol meant to protect those who wear it from negative energies,” she said. “It’s emotionally comforting and beautiful and captivating to look at.”

While pieces from the line are not modest — they range from about $638 (£480) to about $765 (£575) — the collection isn’t all about high fashion and high price tags. In fact, Bazaar says that the line continues their long-standing relationship with Pencils of Promise, a non-profit organization that “aims to increase educational opportunities in the developing world.” The Hadid and Weitzman collection has already committed $105,000, says Bazaar, which will help build schools in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos.

She Leads, You Follow: CMA Awards Edition

It was country music’s night to celebrate as the red carpet was rolled out on Nov. 4 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee for the 49th annual CMA Awards. The awards recognize the top country performers and radio personalities across the nation, but the red carpet prior to the award show certainly recognized the impeccable fashion of these superstars.

Catching our eye first in a bright coral dress was Carrie Underwood, who entered the awards in a Gauri & Nainika peplum gown with a deep v-neckline, says EOnline. She completed her red carpet ensemble with what Us Magazine says is an ear cuff and earrings by Anne Sisteron and Stuart Weitzman heels.

Living up to her name, Jewel wore a shimmery Lorena Sarbu bodycon dress down the CMAs red carpet, says EOnline. She completed her look with silver strappy sandals, a metallic clutch and loose, dramatic waves.

Former frontwoman of Sugarland Jennifer Nettles stunned on the red carpet in what was probably the sexiest look of the night. The “That Girl” singer strut her stuff in a pale pink dress with a revealing mesh-covered bodice, which she topped off with a dramatic, upswept hairdo.

Changing things up in an all-black ensemble was The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry, who showed some leg in what TLC says is an Anthony Vaccarello design. The one-sleeve gown also featured an open-gromet side detail that revealed little peeks of skin in addition to showing all that leg.

Although these ladies are dressed for country music’s biggest award show, there are several things from their looks that we can apply to the way we dress everyday:

  1. The power of a peplum – Carrie Underwood’s dress shows us the power of a peplum, as well as its versatility. A peplum, or that small flounce of material gathered around her waist, is a great way to accentuate your waist and draw attention to your natural curves, while also hiding anything that you may be uncomfortable about. While we normally see peplums on tops or even jackets, Underwood’s look shows us that peplums can be worn in a variety of garments, from a casual top to a formal gown like hers. If you want to try a peplum in your wardrobe, start with a simple peplum top; be sure that the peplum starts at your natural waist and has enough volume to flow outwards to the top of your hips.
  2. Noticeable necklines – All of these country songstresses wore dresses with interesting necklines; Carrie Underwood, Jewel and Jennifer Nettles all went for plunging styles, while Kimberly Perry opted for an asymmetrical look. What all of these different neckline styles have in common, however, is that they frame each woman’s face while also creating a focal point of the outfit. If you want to try an interesting neckline, start with an asymmetrical design (like a one-shoulder style) and then work up to the more daring styles as you feel comfortable and as the occasion permits. And don’t forget — high necklines can be just as dramatic as plunging looks!
  3. Take a risk – Another thing all of these looks have in common is that they are all pretty daring; between the necklines, the skirt styles and the embellishments, they all have dramatic, eye-catching details. What these ladies can teach us is that sometimes, you just have to take a risk in your fashion choices; don’t be afraid to wear something that strays from what you’d normally wear, because you’ll never know if you like something different until you try it.

She Leads, You Follow: Teen Choice Awards Edition

The blue carpet was rolled out on August 16 for the arrival of Hollywood’s rising young stars at the Teen Choice Awards. Held in Los Angele’s Galen Center, the star-studded event was as much about the fashion as it was about the awards, and what tremendous fashion there was!

One of the first looks to catch our eye came courtesy of Gina Rodriguez. According to PopSugar, the actress took to the Teen Choice Awards’ blue carpet in a gunmetal Alberta Ferretti dress, featuring the tiniest bit of beading and a crochet-like hemline. Rodriguez completed her look with dainty silver jewelry, nude pointed-toe pumps and  sultry loose waves.

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale certainly looked pretty as she arrived to the Teen Choice Awards, wearing a blue and black minidress with a plunging, mesh-covered neckline. Hale swept her hair back in a sleek updo and kept the rest of her accessories quite simple, wearing minimal jewelry and pairing her sassy frock with a black Edie Parker clutch and strappy sandals.

Sarah Hyland added a splash of color to the awards, showing up in a cheerful yellow Christian Siriano crop top and shorts set, which she paired with the ever-popular strappy sandal by Stuart Weitzman. The Modern Family actress added another subtle punch of color with her blue earrings, but kept her bracelet neutral, wearing a sparkly silver bangle.

Although these gorgeous ladies are decked out for a red (or in this case, blue) carpet event, there are some things we can take away from their looks to apply to our everyday style:

  1. Small details have a large effect – Gina Rodriguez’s gunmetal grey dress shows us just how small details can come together to create something beautiful. Her dress is constructed in an almost net-like fashion with a nude underlay filling in the dead space. But on each of the ‘seams’ on the netting, there is a small bead that catches the light and adds some dimension to the dress. Finishing off the dress is a crocheted hemline, injecting a bit of femininity into what otherwise could’ve been a pretty edgy dress. No matter what you are shopping for — a dress, a top, a pair of pants or even shoes — look for small details like a subtle texture (like lace, crochet or netting) or shine that will work with the other elements of the piece to make a dimensional, multifaceted look.
  2. Pick a focal point – When putting together an outfit, it’s crucial to pick one focal point of the ensemble, whether it’s wearing a short skirt to show off your legs or wearing an open back to flaunt your back. In Lucy Hale’s case, she chose to wear a dress with a deep v-neckline, making her open neck her outfit’s main focus. Note that she kept her shoes and clutch black to blend in with the black in her dress while also keeping her accessories to a minimum — this allows the neckline of the dress to be the star of the outfit while all of the other components play a supporting role. When putting together an outfit, be sure to pick a focal point (like an open neckline) and don’t pair it with accessories that will compete with that focal point by trying to draw the eye elsewhere. For example, if you choose to wear a dress with a neon pink waist, don’t wear a shoe in an equally loud, contrasting color that will draw the eye away from that point; this will only segment your outfit and create two different areas of interest, making it difficult to spot where we should direct our attention.
  3. Brights will light up your day – Sarah Hyland’s bright yellow crop top and shorts set showed us just how flattering yellow can be. Brights, in general, are very skin tone-enhancing colors, but be careful with brights done in pastel — pastels, although beautiful, are desaturated colors, which can end up washing out those of us with pale complexions. If you want to try a bright color, take Hyland’s lead and wear a color that has some saturation to it. This ensures that the color will warm up your skin tone rather than make you appear pale.

Take Her Look [For Less]

This year’s Wimbledon tennis championships has not only been a platform to showcase the prowess of the world’s best tennis players, but it has also been a platform for celebrities to show off their impeccable style.

Some celebrities in attendance went all out on their Wimbledon ensembles, and Chrissy Teigen was no exception. According to EOnline, the Sports Illustrated model attended the tennis tournament this week in a striped Magda Butrym dress trimmed with fringe, which she paired with a white Valentino studded bag, nude heeled sandals by Stuart Weitzman and Oliver Peoples sunglasses.

Teigen certainly stunned in her polished, trendy Wimbledon look, but perhaps more stunning about her look is its price tag — her entire outfit totaled $4,878! While we want to steal her look, there is no way we can pay almost $5,000 for it. So we set out to recreate her look from head to toe for under $200. Read on to see how we did!

Finding a dress to rival Teigen’s $1,730 Magda Burtrym dress was quite possibly the most difficult part of this look for less scavenger hunt. So instead of searching for a dress with a similar print, we instead chose to look for a dress with a similar cut, and we landed on the IRO Hailee Sleeveless Mesh Contrast dress from Nordstrom Rack. While this dress does not have the same color scheme or fringe detail as Tiegen’s dress, it does share a similar neckline while its mesh bodice mimics the stripes on the Burtrym frock. The other major difference this dress presents is its price: it’s currently on sale for only $104.91.

Although nothing can compete with Tiegen’s $2,345 Valentino bag, we found a cute studded wristlet by Carlos Santana that is definitely a contender. The Carlos Santana Serita Studded Zip Top Wristlet gives us the same studded look in a more subtle, dainty way. The gold studs are laid over a similar crisp white leather, making it the perfect alternative to Tiegen’s more expensive bag. The best part? This wristlet is available for only $29.97 at

Teigen completed her look with nude Stuart Weitzman heeled sandals for $398, but we knew that we could find a similar heel for much less that would not compromise style or comfort. We found the perfect replacement in the form of the Steve Madden Gea sandal. This sandal is offers the same slim straps as Teigen’s Weitzman heels, but for a fraction of the cost; these heels are available at for only $44.99.

Sunglasses were the last item to check off of our look for less list, and we found a cute cat eye wayfarer style to mimic Teigen’s $405 Oliver Peoples sunglasses. The Fossil Cat Eye Wayfarer sunglasses deliver a similar shape to Teigen’s sunnies but for only $19.97 at

Teigen’s Wimbledon outfit cost a lofty $4,878, and while we love her look as is, we’d rather take her look for less. Our reimagined outfit inspired by Teigen’s original look comes in just under our $200 budget at $199.84, making this look affordable for shoppers of all price points.

Happy Shopping!
